Third the one with the hairy chest...

Thanks to all who came down to the Stable Final last week. Great night and very, very good times!

We'll upload a few pics and video shortly for those who missed it, but here's this little taster in the meantime...

For a band that didn't even exist (in its current form) this time last year, I reckon third place is pretty darn impressive.

STABLE IX GRAND FINAL - MECHANICAL SUNRISE

So... the day approaches...

Saturday 11th September is the Grand Final of the Stable.

This is the BIG one.

Once again, the winner will be decided by audience vote, so we need as many of you to come down as possible and show your support for Mechanical Sunrise. Oh, and just in case you need another reason - the next day is Ed's birthday, so come down and wish him a good 'un! Don't worry about a card or present, your vote will more than suffice as a suitable gift.

Actually, he has this to say on the whole matter...

"The Forum has been a part of my world since my early teens. I have seen some amazing bands and had some of the best nights of my life down there. I have met incredible people within it's peeling, sweat-stained walls and forged friendships stronger than any I have known. It's the place were I bought my first pint, the place I played my first gig, the place I met my idols and, most importantly, the place were I first met, and fell in love, with my beautiful wife Samantha.

Over the years, I've performed there in a number of different bands, some good, some not-so-good (I'll leave it up to you to determine which is which...). But every time I've got up on that stage, it's felt like magic.

To me this isn't just any battle of the bands competition. It's more personal. If (and that's a fucking huge, mechanical sun-sized IF) this could be the first step onto bigger things for Mechanical Sunrise, then I damn well want to make sure I take it from the Forum's hallowed stage."

Thanks for that, Ed. Now back to Dermot in the studio....

MECHANICAL SUNRISE LIVE - SUNDAY 29TH AUGUST @ THE SUSSEX ARMS, T WELLS

Calling all Mechanical Sun-Beams! Fuck Local and Live and get down to The Sussex Arms this Sunday evening for more electro-noise mayhem.

The Sussex have got live music on all weekend, courtesy of some of the best local bands. We'll be on about 8pm.

Full line-up is...

SATURDAY

Tin Pan Alley
Where's Billy
Hello Eskimo
Honor Amongst Thieves
Good Ship Band
Jed Grayston

SUNDAY

In Arcanium
Machine Gun Hippies
Klaus
Mechanical Sunrise

Unfortunately, we have no Will, as he's off doing something... unmentionable... But Chris Johnson has lept into the breach at the last minute to plug his big, bad-ass bass-shaped whole.

Look... Here he is now...

Just pray for the sun...

WEDNESDAY 25TH AUGUST 2010 @ The Grey Lady - Mechanical Sunrise Unplugged

Yep, that's right. We're returning to our routes for one more night of acoustic strumming.

Wednesday 25th August, we'll be playing a stripped down set at The Grey Lady, Tunbridge Wells.

It starts around 8.00 and entrance is £5 on the door.

Also playing are:

Sevenscore

Mike Orson

and (the massively talented legend that is...) Paul Cheese

Should be a good one.

Paul Dunton and Guests

HUGE THANKS!

Now, is it just us, or was that a fucking quality night?!

Massive, big-as-the-sky sized thanks to all those who came along last night and voted for us. Fingers crossed, we've got enough points too make it through to the Stable final.

Should have some pics to put up later...

MONDAY 9TH AUGUST - MECHANICAL SUNRISE @ THE FORUM, TUNBRIDGE WELLS

Massive mechanical thanks to all those who came down to our Stable gig back in April. Turns out we only went and got enough points to get through to round 2. Lovely stuff.

Our round 2 gig is on Monday 9th August at the Tunbridge Wells Forum. On the night we'll be battling against Machine Gun Hippies, These Abruzzo Wolves and This Is Lucy.

Doors probably open around 7.30 and it's £5 to get in.

Support local live music and come down and cast your vote.
